Adult Spirituality

ststephensm1-croppedSt. Stephen’s offers a variety of opportunities for adult spirituality and formation.

On Thursdays we offer a noonday service, followed by a Bible Study on the readings for the up-coming Sunday.  Prayers and intercessions for healing or particular requests are also offered at this service.

In Lent and Advent, we have an adult series after church, providing thoughtful and engaging conversations using online and textual resources.

Advent and Lenten retreats and silent days are offered at local monasteries and convents, along with walking the Labyrinth and contemplative services that offer opportunities to “go deeper”.

In Holy Week we hold a Maundy Thursday supper, with foot (or hand) washing.  Followed by the stripping of the altars, and a Vigil into the night hours.

Dinner Conversations – offers adults an opportunity to discuss the spiritual aspects of life issues over an informal dinner.  Topics have included supporting ageing parents, troubled teens, and work/life balance.
