Reverend Sheelagh’s Thought for the Week: August 26, 2015

“Every generous act of giving, with every perfect gift, is from above…” James 1:14

The first day of our camp was filled with generous giving and we all realise how perfect this gift is.  To be able to do this is such a gift for each of us, for we know that it is good. We don’t run a “religious” camp, but it is most definitely spiritual.  So many people make this happen. The musical gifts of Yah Yah and Kim, the artistic talents of  many of our members, Gezine, Carole, Eugene, to name just a few; the generosity of the town restaurateurs, the food ministry of the Dorns and our energetic youth. Let’s not to forget all the silent helpers behind the scenes and in previous camps, who inspire, lead and guide. This is truly the body of Christ at work in the world and it is filled with God’s grace!

I can’t tell you how blessed I feel today.  This is what feeds my soul – this is why I was called into ministry.- this is what it means for me to live in to the Christ that abides in us as we abide in him.  Come visit us, see it for yourself.  Don’t miss our celebration in the park on Saturday at 2pm.

Christine’s Kitchen
We cap off a wonderful week of living and being Matthew 25 with Christine’s Kitchen on August 29th, from 10:30-1:15 as we serve neighbors in need at Christine’s Kitchen at Holy Trinity in West Orange.
1.       Holy Trinity is located at Washington and Main Streets in West Orange.  Parking is on the street.
2.       We can use entrees, fruit, other foods and volunteers; the first three will be served and eaten by our guests; the last will not (we hope).
3.       If you feel like bringing something additional, do so!  Food will not go to waste.
4.       We will be done in plenty of time for the drumming performance.
5.       Call Claas at 908 451-0426 if you want to volunteer or contribute or email him at cehlers@familypromise.org.
WE are told there will be a lot of people since it is end of the month, so anything you can do is much appreciated.
